 Melissaidan Abyssinians and Egyptian Maus 
GCCF  Welcome to the website of Melissaidan Abyssinians & Egyptian Maus. We are a small hobby cattery breeding and exhibiting quality pedigree Abyssinians and Egyptian Maus. We are registered with the UK Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) and The International Cat Association (TICA).
Our cats are exhibited at shows governed by both of these bodies, as well as shows sanctioned by Felis Britannica, the UK member of the Federation Internationale Feline (FIFe). We currently have GCCF & TICA Champions amongst our cats.
 Our former stud, CFA, FIFe, GCCF & TICA Champion Mauisha Nepherhotep,
the first Egyptian Mau in the UK to be awarded the title of Champion under all four governing bodies!
We are proud to say that in 2009 our former Egyptian Mau stud, CFA, FIFe, GCCF & TICA Champion Mauisha Nepherhotep (Hotep) became the first Egyptian Mau in the UK to be awarded the title of Champion under all three UK governing bodies. In addition he is a European champion under the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA). He also won a TICA Award of Excellence for achieving 3rd Best Egyptian Mau of the Year in the Northern Europe Region 2008-2009.
We ended the year with a double success in the Felis Britannica (FIFe) Cat of the Year Awards 2009. Hotep was awarded Best Egyptian Mau Adult and our new stud cat Pollystar Amsu-Ra (Amsu), was the winner of Best Egyptian Mau Kitten. Amsu also won Best Egyptian Mau in the Garden of England Cat Club Cat of the Year Awards 2009.
We are also honoured to be one of the very few UK members of the Global Egyptian Mau Society (GEMS), the worldwide body dedicated to the breed. GEMS primary purpose is to promote and improve the breeding and welfare of Egyptian Maus. As GEMS members we agree to adhere to a statement of ethics, confirming that we believe in responsible breeding programmes.
Here in the UK we are members of the Abyssinian Cat Association, the Abyssinian Cat Club and the Egyptian Mau Club. In addition to the national breed clubs, we are also members of several local cat clubs. You can find information about many of these on our Links page.
Our aim is to produce kittens which meet the breed standards, whilst ensuring that they are healthy and robust with faultless temperaments.

All available kittens will be advertised on our Kittens page. We thoroughly vet all potential owners of our kittens and strictly adhere to the GCCF Code of Ethics for cat breeders.
